Elected Chair Nov. 26, 2002.  Illinois State Treasurer, elected in 1994, and re-elected in 1998 and 2002.  State Senator, elected in 1984 and served for a decade.  State Representative, elected  in 1980 and served two terms.  Worked eleven years as a reporter and editor for several community newspapers in the Cook County suburbs.  B.S. degree from Northwestern University ’s Medill School of Journalism, 1966.  Born in Riverside, Illinois and continues to live there.

(started as interim executive director in Dec. 2003)  Managed  DuPage County State's Attorney Joe Birkett's campaign for Illinois Attorney General starting in April 2002.  Worked on the staff of State Treasure Judy Baar Topinka as deputy chief of staff for programs in 2001-2.  Took a leave of absence in 2000 to help coordinate events for the Bush campaign.  Has also worked as district office director for Congresswoman Judy Biggert, on the political staff of Jim Ryan, and on U.S. Senate candidate Rich Williamson's campaign in 1992.  Law degree from Loyola School of Law.  Undergraduate degree in journalism from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Resident of Glen Ellyn.
